McLaren continues celebrating its 50 years of racing in the team's latest video, which looks back to the days when the company's namesake and founder was out running the cars himself. It proceeds up from there, covering the team's multiple world champions and including some classic racing footage along the way, much of which is attributed to the late Bruce McLaren, who was tragically killed in testing in 1970.
Let's take a brief look at where the careers of two of McLaren's most successful contemporary drivers are at these days. On the one hand, we have Lewis Hamilton, 2008 world champion. After years of being successfully handled by his father, Lewis professionally disengaged from Anthony's management earlier this year. McLaren's been taking care of its star in the meantime, but team principal Martin Whitmarsh is reportedly encouraging Lewis to retain independent management.
