The 2015 Chevy Colorado was one of last week's big debuts at the LA Auto Show, so big that our editors ranked it second in our list of Top Five debuts from the show. We thought Chevy's reentry into the midsize pickup market deserved a closer look, so we sent West Coast Editor Mike Harley to talk to Jeff Luke, chief engineer of midsize and fullsize trucks for Chevrolet.
For enthusiasts, the debut of the 2015 Subaru WRX was arguably one of the more important happenings at last week's LA Auto Show. Looking back through our full roundup of LA Auto Show coverage, we have to say, this show was seriously solid. And that's especially important this time around, with hot new metal from the Tokyo Motor Show vying for everyone's attention at the exact same time. But no matter, we covered the hell out of the LA show, and as usual, the entire editorial team has picked out the cars that deserve some extra attention.
After 30 years of tuning performance cars and building racecars, Saleen is celebrating its racing heritage with a limited-production car line called SA-30. Based on the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, Saleen will only build 10 of each SA-30 model at a base price of $95,000.
Chevrolet showed off a pair of new Sonic sedans at the LA Auto Show, giving the new RS Sedan and Dusk their official auto show debuts. The RS is kind of a known quantity, adding the same tweaks found on the RS Hatch, including new wheels, a body kit, tweaked suspension and a few racy bits in the interior.
For almost 20 years, luxury retailer Neiman Marcus has teamed up with an automaker to offer rare, limited edition automobiles in the pages its famous annual holiday catalogue. The vehicles have run the gamut over the years, but have slowly been eking up in price and exclusivity in the past few years. 2011 saw a Ferrari FF Neiman Marcus, while 2012's car was a McLaren 12C Spider. As we announced a few weeks back, the retailer's 2013 holiday car is the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.
It's been 57 years since the "new" Fiat 500 was introduced in 1957, and to celebrate this iconic inspiration for the current 500, Fiat has revealed a new commemorative model at the LA Auto Show. The 2014 Fiat 500 1957 Edition will only be offered in North America, and it goes on sale next spring.

To put that into perspective, a short-wheelbase base model starts at $84,195.
One of the more curious developments at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week was the return of the Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. General Motors ended production of the Colorado and its cousin, the GMC Canyon, early last year. At the time, the decision seemed to be the final curtain for small and midsize domestic pickups, as it followed Ford's decision to kill the Ranger and Chrysler's decision to end production of the Dodge Dakota.
Hyundai unveiled the Veloster Turbo R-Spec at the LA Auto Show yesterday, and it's touted as a high-performance model without some of the standard features usually found on the Veloster Turbo, such as proximity-key entry with push-button start, premium gauge cluster, side-repeater mirrors, driver's auto-up window, high-gloss interior trim and heated leather seats.
A Rolls-Royce Phantom or a Bentley Mulsanne is great if you want absolute luxury regardless of the cost, but what if you want absolute luxury and manic speed, regardless of cost? Earlier in the year, Shelby American unveiled the 1,200-horsepower Shelby 1000 wearing a price tag of $154,995. Now, the Las Vegas-based company is looking to meet the needs of budget-minded performance enthusiasts with the rebirth of the Shelby GT, which made its debut at the LA Auto Show.
Remember the Mini Rocketman concept from 2011? While we were really, really hoping for a production version – a properly mini Mini – that never happened. And it won't. But what we are getting is a whole lot of that showcar's styling cues applied to the third-generation Mini Cooper hardtop, a model making its debut here at the LA Auto Show. And while from most angles, the new Mini is as cute as ever, we just can't quite warm up to that face – or that huge front overhang. The car
