Unreal: Spada Codatronca headed for production

We knew it was true, but we still can't believe it. The Spada Codatronca is slated for production, with 20 examples due to be built in the near future and priced somewhere north of £200,000. As reported previously, the Dark Knight's weekend driver is packing a supercharged LS7 V8, producing 600 hp in "entry-level" TS guise and can be upgraded to a track-ready version producing 700 hp and dropping 0-60 times to a mind-boggling 2.7 seconds. Unfortunately, we've yet to see any photos of the "production" version that was unveiled at the Top Marques show this past weekend, so we'll just have to wait and see if the sinister sled makes a successful transition from concept to production.

Caparo T1 unveiled in Monaco

None other than His Serene Highness Prince Albert II unveiled the Caparo T1 at the Top Marques auto show in Monaco. The calm and dignified ruler of the principality was joined by hyperactive motorsports commentator Murray Walker, who has had the pleasure of a drive in another project by T1 masterminds Ben Scott-Geddes and Graham Halstead - the McLaren two-seater Formula 1 car. (Surely it's not a coincidence that the two ex-McLaren engineers chose orange - the color of McLaren's historic team cars - for the first T1.) More after the jump...

Caparo releases new pics of T1 ahead of Monaco debut

You remember the Caparo T1 – that F1 turned street-legal supercar developed with help from ex-McLaren F1 engineers. We already told you that the first prototype of the production model will be unveiled at the Top Marques show in Monaco by “His Serene Highness Prince Albert II.” (That’s got to be the most seriously unfortunate title ever.) We expect to see live shots of the car sometime this Thursday, April 20th. Here are some additional pics of the car provided by Caparo ahead of the debut and a recap of what makes the car so special.
  • Weighs less than 1,100 lbs.
  • 500 horsepower compact V8
  • 0-60 in 2.5 seconds
  • Capable of 3g cornering
  • 500-mile range on highway
  • First claimed 1,000bhp-per-tonne road car
