Mitsubishi Auto Show Coverage

Mitsubishi is the automotive division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, one of the largest industrial groups in Japan. Credited with offering the country's first production automobile for sale in 1917, Mitsubishi didn't formally create an automotive division until 1970 and has since formed alliances with many automakers. The brand's halo vehicle in the US is the Lancer Evolution, a road-going version of the company's rally car.

Geneva 2011: Mitsubishi Global Small Concept, as bland as its name
    1298994900

The seventh-generation Mitsubishi Colt is well overdue for a replacement, and here in Geneva, Mitsu took the wraps off what's likely to form its next B-segment player. As you'd suspect from its unimaginative name, the Global Small Concept is being developed for worldwide consumption, and spans a squat 147 inches and a relatively narrow 66 inches wide, ...

Proton builds itself a Mitsubishi Evolution
    1291417320

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is such a good car, it seems that Malaysian automaker Proton decided it ought to offer a version of its own. Sort of. While the company's Jebat Concept, which was just shown off at the Kuala Lumpur Motor Show, is styled to look like the Evolution, it's actually powered by the 237-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged mill ...

Okay, well maybe a long, ...

New York 2010: Mitsubishi hopes 2011 Outlander Sport will be their volume leader
    1270148340

Let's just go on ahead and make that much needed volume leader. The great economic collapse of 2009 smashed Mitsubishi in the teeth with a much larger brick than most other manufacturers. Thinks have slightly improved, but their February sales were still down 10 percent, and from an already frighteningly low level. Obviously, something must be done. ...

Report: Mitsubishi ASX obliterates first month sales goal in Japan
    1268922660

What's popular in the Japanese home market isn't always an indicator of worldwide success; check out their obsession with dogs, for instance. On the other hand, the reason Mitsubishi's ASX has pulled down three-and-a-half times the automaker's hoped-for monthly sales in its first four weeks on the market is probably not related to quirkiness. Tax ...

    1259871600

Yesterday, we reported that Mitsubishi is bringing its small, B-segment Colt to our shores. And that's true, mostly. What we've learned between now and then is that Mitsu isn't bringing over the current Colt, but rather the replacement for the current Colt, i.e. the next Colt. In fact, Mitsubishi Motors Corp. President Osamu Masuko said as much during ...

Buried deep within Mitsubishi's (re)presentation of its PX-MiEV plug-in hybrid concept from the Tokyo Motor Show was a line about a global small car that Mitsubishi will be bringing to the US in 2010. That's it, one line. We didn't think too much of the announcement until Mitsubishi's Product Communications Manager Moe Durand walked up and said, "In case ...
