Kia topped the rankings for initial quality of new vehicles sold in the United States based on owner responses for the second consecutive year, business consultancy J.D. Power said on Wednesday. Hyundai Motor's Genesis cars came second in the survey, followed by sports luxury brand Porsche. Fiat Chrysler's Ram and the Ford brand shared fourth position. The Detroit News is reporting that J.D. .Power is tinkering with its Initial Quality Survey for the first time since 1998 and only the second time since it was introduced in 1987, and the results could mean an increase in reports of problems by up to 40 percent.
