Nearly 90,000 EVs Called In Because Of One Seatbelt Incident In Europe

Tesla will recall every Model S sedan over a seatbelt issue uncovered in a single incident in Europe. This recall includes nearly 90,000 cars.

NHTSA has sent letters to seven automakers, including VW and Tesla, asking which of their models contain Takata airbag inflators with ammonium nitrate propellant. The agency is considering a further expansion of the recall.

Action is a result of overheating in owners' garages

Tesla Motor Company, maker of the Model S electric car, is recalling 29,222 wall charger adapters following reports of overheating in owners' garages.

Tesla's big wall charger adapter replacement program is about to get a lot bigger. For one thing, the replacement has become an official recall. Secondly, the number of affected adapters is higher than expected: 29,222 units.

Tesla is recalling some 439 Roadsters after discovering a redundant 12v auxiliary cable rubbing against a carbon fiber panel on a customer car. The cable, which helps power a variety of auxiliary electrical systems if the primary cable fails, will be inspected and fitted with a protective sleeve. Only 2.0 and 2.5 Roadsters have the cable, so early adopters with 1.5 models aren't affected by the recall. Full details after the jump.
