Toyota is recalling 625,000 Prius models worldwide for faulty hybrid ECU software. The issue affects 109,000 units of the 2012-2014 Prius V in the US. In some cases, it can cause the vehicles to stop functioning while driving.

Toyota is expanding its Takata airbag inflator recall by an additional 1.37 million vehicles, including the 2003-2007 Corolla, Matrix, and Lexus SC430; the 2005-2006 Tundra; and the 2005-2007 Sequoia.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed May 19, that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are to be recalled.
