A problem discovered with corrosion in the air bag control unit has prompted FCA to recall 112,001 units of the Dodge Journey, Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town and Country, and Volkswagen Routan from the 2008 and 2009 model years.
FCA will recall 894,000 vehicles worldwide to fix problems with inadvertent airbag deployment, failure of the anti-lock brakes, and stability control systems in the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty, Dodge Journey, and Fiat Freemont.
The 2011-2015 Dodge Journey and Fiat Freemont are covered under a recall to secure their engine covers from getting loose. The campaign covers 349,731 of the crossovers worldwide. The loose parts under the hood can be a fire hazard if they get too hot.
FCA US is replacing the the ignition switches in 702,578 examples of the 2008-2010 Chrysler Town & Country, 2008-2010 Dodge Grand Caravan and 2009-2010 Dodge Journey. This campaign was first announced last year, but the automaker has revised the repair procedure.
