The NHTSA release also notes that the issue may occur "without prior warning" which obviously factors in to the timeliness of

23Ford calling in 28k Edge crossovers over fuel line leak

A problem with the fuel line on certain examples of the Ford Edge has prompted the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to issue a recall. The issue revolves around the metal housing on the fuel line pulse damper, which was apparently improperly manufactured in the first place and is prone to crack in certain circumstances, leading to a fuel leak. And as we all know, a fuel leak is not a good thing.

While most of us believe that small, fuel efficient cars are the key to global expansion for US automakers, Jim Farley, Ford's vice president of Global Marketing, thinks otherwise. Last week, we attended an exclusive sneak preview of the Ford Edge Concept in advance of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Farley told us that it's actually utility vehicles that will help the Blue Oval gain market share overseas. "There is no other segment in our industry that is growing like utilities," he said. "We ex

Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. 86Ford Edge Concept previews new look, can park itself remotely [w/video]

It turns out the image we saw back in February did, in fact, reveal the next-generation Ford Edge – at least in concept form. We still have to wait to see what the design will look like in production guise, but until then, Ford is giving us a good idea thanks to the Edge Concept being introduced at the LA Auto Show.

Aside from an admittedly significant refresh in 2011, the guts underpinning the midsize Ford Edge crossover (shown above as a 2012 model) haven't received much attention since it was introduced seven years ago. That is all about to change as Ford plans to roll out a new concept vehicle at the LA Auto Show that will preview the next-gen Edge, which we may have actually gotten our first look at back in February.
