Autocrosser mixes cones and rings with in-car marriage proposal

Autocrossing a car takes cool nerves and a lot of focus, which makes this particular stunt even more impressive. You see, as Jake Wile pilots his BMW into the course of cones during a recent BMW Car Club of America event in Boston, he knows that he is just a few turns and slaloms away from one of the most nerve-racking moments of a man's life: proposing to his girlfriend.

Meet Dick Eytchison and his '65 Chevelle autocrosser

There are few things we love more than seeing well-sorted classic cars being put to task. It seems we're in good company on that front. Dick Eytchison shares our belief that, "you just don't appreciate them unless you get out there and drive them."

Who makes the best night-vision system? Car and Driver weighs in

Car and Driver Tested continues with an episode comparing the night vision systems from the Big Three German luxury makers. Chevrolet Corvette redefines curb rash during autocross

Autocross critics are quick to tell you that the pastime is a good way to learn bad habits behind the wheel. We say that, while it may be true, caning a vehicle around a parking lot while dodging a few cones is a good way to have a lot of fun behind the wheel in a fairly low-risk environment. Tough little cars with a pretty shape. Flickr member autox1800 has forged his own path looking

RR of the Day: 2001 Honda S2000

Of his yellow 2001 Honda S2000, Flickr user solo2photo sums things up pretty succintly when he writes, "it comes from the factory already able to be pretty competitive." Since Honda was thoughtful enough to deliver such a capable vehicle to the masses, solo2photo hasn't had to go too crazy with the mods. He runs the car in the A Stock (AS) class and is limited in terms of the changes he's allowed to make, anyway.

RR of the Day: Three-wheelin' like only a Miata should

We couldn't find a better way to kick off our autocross-themed RR of the Week than showcasing one of the most potent cone-assassins available, the Mazda Miata. Certainly, the two killer photos of Alex Renner's Miata in action made for eye-candy of the highest order, but as soon as we saw the intercooler peering within the Mazda's maw, we knew this had to be Monday's submission.
