Sport Trac production done until 2006

When the Explorer plant in Louisville shuts down for their usual two-week summer vacation, the Sport Trac will take the 2006 model year off. The plant will prepare for the revised 2006 Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer and does not want to add a third new model to further complex the assembly line. The 2007 Sport Trac, which will look much like the 2005 concepts, will begin production in early 2006. Ford believes they have enough supplies of the current Sport Trac so dealers won't see

Ford steps up to save mustangs

The maker of the Mustang is saving mustangs in the wild. Older wild mustang horses are being sold and slaughtered for horsemeat used in dog food or for people to eat overseas. Whether the Sioux tribe that sold the horses signed an agreement that said they were to be provided "humane care" is under investigation. Ford gave $19,000 to save the remaining mustangs from being slaughtered at the packing plant.

A-Riva: Electric cars live on

The all-electric car has all but died in the U.S. aside from a few rabid EV-1 fans throwing themselves in front of the car crushers that have made their zero emissions cars into coffee tables. Bentley Flying Spur review

The guys at 4Car take the super sedan out for a high-speed cruise and find out how close the Flying Spur is to its GT brother. The sedan does the 0-60 sprint in 5 seconds and can burn through a tank of gas in almost the same amount of time. The car did provide some annoyances including high wind noise and allowing water to drip onto passengers who use the rear doors in t

Spectra5 versus Reno

Low-buck sport hatches are growing like weeds, or more like it's the 1980's again. Two of the cheapest vehicles were tested by The Car Connection and put through the paces. TCC finds that the Reno better looking inside and out and more comfortable but found the Spectra5 more rewarding to drive. The Spectra5 was better tuned for the "sport" in "sport hatch". The manual shifting felt better and the suspension handled spirited driving better.

Buick racing?

When I think of Buick racing, images of the green and white Skoal Bandit of Harry Gant winning four in a row September of 1991. GM pulled Buick from NASCAR and the name now couldn't have an image further from racing in this country. In China, where the Buick name is popular, the automaker is introducing a version of the large rear-wheel drive Holden Statesman and Caprice called the Buick Royaum. To mark the introduction, Buick will sponsor the Holden V8 Supercar at the race held in Shangh
