DCX's CEO Juergen Schrempp had his S600 Mercedes-Benz armored limo stolen while it was parked on a street in Stuttgart, Germany. The car, which was worth about 1 million bucks, has a broadcast service that is supposed to help locate the car. It hasn't been located yet. German sources say that it was the Russian mafia that stole the vehicle.  Ha. This can also be filed under "Limo driver seeking new employment".

Schumacher Racing and the hostile takeover

Just when you thought it was safe to start your car, Don Schumacher has announced another partnership to continue expansion in the National Hot Rod Association. Jeg Coughlin will now report for Pro Stock duty to Schumacher Racing with a fresh Jeg's Mail Order Dodge Stratus R/T. Ten-time Pro Stock champion Bob Glidden will serve as Coughlin's crew chief for the 2005 season in Schumacher's bid to catch Greg Anderson and General Motors.

Edmunds releases longest turnaround cars, biggest bargains

Edmunds just released a new study that more 2004 model year cars are staying on dealer lots than in previous model years. These cars are also making up more sales than before. 2004 vehicles were 54% of sales in October as compared to 45% of 2003 model year vehicles last year and 31% of 2002 vehicles a year before. The average days-to-turn time, how long it takes to get a car off the lot, also increased to 114 days for a 2004 model in October. The average overall was 75 days, up from 59 in

Protesters bust up H3 exhibit at San Fran car show

After a two hour protest outside the 47th Annual San Francisco International Auto Show a group of people stormed the Hummer exhibit inside, mounted an H3 exhibit and chanted ""Driving a Hummer Is Driving Us to War." The group called Code Pink was ushered out of the hall even though they bought tickets. Outside an auto show spokeswoman accused the group of scratching the H3.
