Waste Management opens CNG fueling station near Chicago

On May 24th, Waste Management of Illinois boosted its commitment to use natural gas-powered garbage and recycling trucks with the opening of a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station in Wheeling, IL. The facility is equipped with 40 filling bays, which will be used to fuel Waste Management's six CNG-powered vehicles that operate in the Chicago area. Waste Management's trucks hold approximately 50 gallons of CNG, which allow the heavy-duty waste-hauling machines to run for up to 12 hours.
