Lego fans, here's some more awesome automobilia for you to snap together. Ford and Lego are pairing up to offer adorable brick versions of the Le Mans-winning 1966 GT40 and 2016 GT racers.

Part of Lego's Speed Champions collection – which already includes a raft of race- and road-going Audis, Chevrolets, Ferraris, McLarens, Porsches, and Ford's own Mustang, F-150 Raptor, and Model A – the new models pay homage to two of the Blue Oval's historic endurance racing wins. The GT40 model wears the same black with white stripes as the race-winning 1966 model, which marked Ford's first victory over Ferrari at Le Mans, while the 2016 model wears the red-white-blue EcoBoost livery as 2016's race winner. The pair was actually previewed in a Lego video back in June celebrating Ford's return to the historic race. A driver minifig, a tiny checkered flag, and a trophy are all part of the kit.

Lego's Speed Champions line isn't as detailed as its collection of Technic cars, but its kits are also significantly more affordable than, say, the $300 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Technic model. Lego has only announced prices for the new set in euros and pounds – €34.99 ($37.16) and £29.99 ($37.51) – but we expect this one to run about $30 in the US based on prices for other two-car Speed Champions sets. The Lego Ford GT40/GT set goes on sale on March 1.
