Car seats come standard in all vehicles. They are made from durable materials so as to withstand prolonged use. Car seats come with various options when choosing materials, special options, and style of seating to make your ride more enjoyable.
Different Seat Material Types
Car seat materials generally come in five different types. Nylon fabric is the most durable fabric and comes in a variety of colors. Faux vinyl fabric looks like suede or leather, but isn’t. It is very soft and comes at a reasonable price. PVC fabric is commonly used on lower-end vehicles and is not very comfortable. Vinyl is simple to clean and comes in a variety of colors. Leather is one of the more expensive fabrics, but it is comfortable and provides a luxurious look for your vehicle.
Heated seats use a heating mechanism built inside of the seat to create a warm area on your legs, thighs, and back. Ventilated seats offer air through the seat to cool the passenger down. Heated and ventilated seats make the ride more comfortable because they can be individually controlled to the passenger’s liking.
Ordering Seat Covers
Seat covers can protect your original vehicle’s upholstery from stains, damage, and change the look of the interior of your vehicle. If you want to resell it in the future, seat covers may be a good option to protect the upholstery from being destroyed or stained. Decide how much you want to spend on seat covers as they come in custom fit, semi-custom fit, and universal fit. Custom seat covers are the most expensive, yet they cover your seat completely. Universal seat covers can be least expensive, but they may not cover the entire seat.
Types of Car Seats
There are a few different types of seats you will see in a vehicle. A bucket seat is a separate seat with a contoured platform. It is designed to seat one person and can be adjusted individually. A bench seat is a platform that can seat up to three people and normally cannot be adjusted. Folding seats are rear seats that fold down in the back to create more room for passengers or cargo.
Car seats can make a vehicle more comfortable, or less comfortable, depending on the type you have. Upgrading is always an option after purchasing a vehicle.
