High-performance SUVs tend to be the realm of German automakers and their performance studios, like Porsche, Mercedes-AMG and BMW's M division. But the Brits aren't about to sit around and let their Teutonic rivals have all the high-riding, high-output fun. Bentley promises its Bentayga will be the fastest one yet, but before it does, Land Rover has stepped up with the new Range Rover Sport SVR – a thoroughly British take on the formula. And who better to evaluate its merits than Harry Metcalfe?
The founding editor of Evo magazine may be semi-retired, but he's still producing videos for our enjoyment on YouTube. He also served as a consultant to Jaguar Land Rover in setting up the Special Vehicle Operations division responsible for this, its first proper performance SUV.
