Jaguar Land Rover joins Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers



Whenever there's auto industry-related lobbying going on in Washington D.C., the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers is there. Consisting of eleven automakers representing 77 percent of all vehicle sales in the United States, the Auto Alliance has a "role in shaping meaningful public policy on the federal, state and even global levels," according to President and CEO Dave McCurdy. The newest member of the Alliance is Jaguar Land Rover, representing the two brands that were recently sold by Ford Motor Company to Tata Motors.

With the addition of the Indian-owned, British-based automaker, the membership now consists of BMW Group, Chrysler, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Porsche, Toyota and Volkswagen.

JAGUAR LAND ROVER JOINS AUTO ALLIANCE

Washington, D.C. – The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers today announced that Jaguar Land Rover has joined the Washington, DC,-based association, bringing the total number of Alliance member companies to 11: BMW Group, Chrysler, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz USA, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Toyota and Volkswagen. The Alliance currently represents approximately 77 percent of all car and light truck sales in the U.S. and works to unite the industry in its commitment to enriching society through sustainable mobility. Alliance members, based around the world, dedicate themselves to providing safer, cleaner and more fuel-efficient automobiles that produce less carbon dioxide emissions.

"We're pleased that Jaguar Land Rover recognizes the Alliance's continued role in shaping meaningful public policy on the federal, state and even global levels," said Alliance President and CEO Dave McCurdy. "We're looking forward to working with these two iconic British brands as this entire industry continues its historic transformation," he added.
