Honda to bring mystery off-road truck to SEMA — trail-ready Ridgeline?

'Unique concept merging Honda light-truck and Powersports products'

Honda, like always, is coming to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this year and plans to show what it calls a "unique concept merging Honda light-truck and Powersports products." And that's all we have to go on for now. Let the speculation begin. Don't be afraid to get crazy with it too — this is the same company that decided to make a Civic Type R pickup concept.

The big hint here is Honda Powersports, though. That division of Honda makes motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and other off-road recreation vehicles. So are we being led to believe that there might be an off-road Ridgeline concept coming? Or maybe an entirely different kind of truck? The Ridgeline might be the safest guess of them all, especially since everybody tends to love vehicles like the F-150 Raptor and Colorado ZR2. We'd certainly love to see a Ridgeline purpose-built for the trail to go toe-to-toe with the ever-capable ZR2. Of course, Honda could do something with the Pilot too, but we'll have to wait until Oct 30 to find out.

Honda will be bringing more than just the concept to SEMA, though. It'll have its Civic Type R race car and the Honda Pilot it plans to enter into the Rebelle Rally there as well. For those wondering, the Rebelle Rally is an all-female off-road rally run through the western U.S. over 1,500 miles with near-stock vehicles.

And greenies at the show will be able to check out a 2019 Insight with all the accessories Honda plans to offer it. But make sure to check back later to find out what Honda has hidden up its sleeve.
