Which is faster, a supercar or a fighter jet? It's a question we've seen people try to answer time and time again, like in this latest showdown. Orchestrated by the Viper Club of America, this drag race pits a 2014 SRT Viper against an F-16 fighter jet, which may be officially known as the Fighting Falcon, but its pilots call it Viper. VCA national secretary John Canal is behind the wheel of the SRT, while Captain Chuck Moffett pilots the F-16 down 3,000 feet of runway at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona.

So which came out ahead? We'll tell you this much: the winner is an American performance machine known as the Viper. You'll have to watch the video below, however, to find out which one.

I'm more interested in which one consumed the least fuel. I'm shopping for a grocery getter and I'm torn between the two.

Always some high end sports car vs. the usual lot of F-16/18 etc... When will we some originality? I want to see a Dodge Caravan vs. Cessna Caravan.

These car vs jet races were cool the first 5 times I had seen them in the 90s. Now this video has found a new camera angle to make it even more boring.

It was awesome in the mid-80's when the Callaway Corvette took on a jet. 30 years later, the thrill is gone.

That was ridiculously boring, so I'm going to give others the warning I didn't get. Avoid the video, folks, it sucks. A tip, Autoblog, not every car vs jet video deserves a mention. I just wasted my time on your recommendation. I don't appreciate that.
