Matt Edmonds from Tire Rack, Opel Cascada, Nissan steer-by-wire

Episode #305 of the Autoblog Podcast is here, and this week, Dan Roth, Zach Bowman and David Kiley are joined by Matt Edmonds from Tire Rack, our title sponsor. There's plenty of in-depth discussion of tires and wheels, plus winter tires. We also touched on the Opel Cascada and its chances at becoming a Buick and Nissan's forthcoming steer-by-wire system. For those of you who hung with us live on our UStream channel, thanks for taking the time. Keep reading for our Q&A module for you to scroll through and follow along, too. Thanks for listening!

I'm all for a sponsor and all and the occasional plug, but I stopped listening about halfway through. WAY too much tire rack.

The tire rack segment was very informative. Some thought it was a commercial, but I learned a lot about winter tires, tires on awd vehicles, shaving tires, rotating tires, performance tires, and run flat tires. Good job. I hate to say it, but the podcast isn't the same without Shunk. Sure, Roth and Bowman are good, but it's like the 3 stooges without Moe. Umm... I meant no disrespect... that was a compliment. I understand Shunk has moved on and I wish him the best. The remaining team needs to find their rhythm though.

When making a podcast, before you can even think about the content, you MUST get the basics right. Again, 60Hz hum returns to the audio and it's so annoying, and so avoidable. Also, keep the boss off the podcast--he likes to hear himself talk.

So that's what that hum was. I was listening with headphones on the morning train ride and I thought it was someone behind me about to slice me with a light saber. :)
