We got our first taste of the 2013 6 Series Gran Coupe this weekend, but BMW has since released over 100 new photos of the car, plus some video. We've got all the images right here in one monstrous gallery, which also includes some behind-the-scenes shots of the car during development. (Yes, we love seeing BMW stylists' sculpting clay.)

The video is after the jump, so get clicking, then be sure to participate in our poll below.

What's the difference between a coupé and a two-door sedan? *Interior volume*. The SAE defines a coupé based on interior volume - not the number of doors. SAE standard J1100 defines a coupé as a fixed-roof automobile with less than 33 cubic feet (930 L) of rear interior volume.

It looks kinda fugly in the pics, hopefully it will look better in person. I don't really see what the point is though. The only reason to buy this over a 5 series would be the styling, but is doesn't look very good.

"comfortable space for 5 passengers..." So the center passenger in the back has to straddle the console?

Pretty decent looking sedan, although I think this will be one of those cars that looks better in person than in pictures.

I think it looks better than any other BMW in production today. Surprised, didn't even know they were planning it, but it's beautiful. That interior two-tone needs to go though.

I can agree with Infiniti, but saying regular Acura and Lexus are better performance machines than BMWs are just stupid, you probably don't even know what the word performance means. The regular Acura and Lexus exclude the NSX and LF-A, IS-F of course. But I will take a 335 over a IS350 anyday of the week.

This car is probably the most beautiful looking BMW in years. Makes Audi and Merc very old. Their designs lack soul. Long live the KING BMW!

this cars looks amazing!!!!! I love the CLS and now that all the German car makers are making their own 4 door coupe it is going to be amazing Lexus and all the rest of the asian cars will soon follow American cars like Lincoln and Cadillac will not follow because they are Americans and like always will fail

I totally agree on the front that it's amazing! But don't assume that American luxury brands will fail because they don't have this type of car...

German automakers are such lemmings and in so much denial. Bad idea: Making a swoopy sedan and calling it a coupe. Bad idea: Doing the same thing with an SUV .

its odd. looks like they grafted 3 different cars together. the front 1/3 is just weird, and that body line below the fender turn signal is just ugly and doesnt go with any other part of the car. the middle-1/3rd looks like a 5 series. and the rear 1/3 is the only part that looks decent. the interior is asymmetrical and ugly...specifically the passenger side. what are they thinking with that scoop from the center console to the passenger side dash??? they did it on the 3 series and that too isnt any better. this looks like its gonna be another 5 series GT flop. i doubt this is gonna grow on me like the panamera has. bmw should hire some of audi's designers.
