German biodiesel tax break is expiring

While biodiesel is becoming more and more popular with German consumers and production is rising, the tax break for the fuel has expired. Biodiesel was exempt from the 45-euro-cent petroleum tax imposed on petroleum diesel until this Tuesday, when a new energy law took effect reducing the exemption by nine Euro cents. An additional increase of six Euro cents per liter starting in 2008 will reduce the tax benefit for biodiesel completely by 2012. While biodiesel will still be cheaper in the short

According to CCC Information Services Inc., an organization that monitors stolen and damaged vehicles, small cars are among the most targeted vehicles for theft. After the debut of the Panamera sedan in late 2009, Porsche is expected to unveil a new front-engine GT coupe in the tradition of the 928. The spy shots of the GT Coupe show a heavily modified 928 body with extended fender flares and a host of tec

GM adds a couple hundred mil to Q2 losses; GMAC sale may not come until '07

Or, rather, make that $3.4B, according to a filing with the Security and Exchange commission. The discrepancy - one of several in recent months - comes as the company takes an additional charge of $200M related to a difference in declared value and taxable value of some GMAC assets.
