Drive Clean and Green Across Georgia Convoy

To mark the start of a three-day Georgia Bioenergy Conference starting today in Tifton, a convoy of seven vehicles showcasing hybrid and alternative fuel technologies has been driving across Georgia, arriving in Tifton today. One of the vehicles in the convoy is the bucket truck we mentioned in a previous article, and the convoy also includes a Ford Escape Hybrid, the cheapest car in the convoy at about $27,000. The state of Georgia hopes to boost the popularity of hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles to reduce dependence on foreign oil, air pollution and boost Georgia's economy. The boost in Georgia's economy is expected to come from small ethanol plants, providing a source of income for Georgia's farmers and timber owners who will provide the feedstock.
