Looking to get back into the thick of things in the commercial van market, Chrysler has set the pricing for the Fiat Ducato-based 2014 Ram Promaster. When it goes on sale by the end of this year, the new Promaster will have prices that range from $26,030 for the Promaster 3500 chassis cab cutaway with a 136-inch wheelbase and topping out at $36,150 for the long-wheelbase, high-roof 3500 cargo van (*prices don't include the $995 destination charge).

While pricing was released for a total of 14 build configurations (including the addition of a 2500 cargo van equipped with rear windows that was not previously announced last month), Chrysler has still not announced how much it will cost to get the optional combination of the EcoDiesel engine and the six-speed automated manual transmission and if it will be available in all styles. Prices start at $26,030, $26,530 and $28,630, respectively, not including $995 destination.       Unless you're hauling feathers, flowers, or potato chips this truck is going to be a looser because it's FWD. Put a heavy load in it and the traction will go away. Remember the FWD GM motorhome? They could get stuck on wet grass, let alone in the snow, and as a result were a big flop. This is why the M-B Sprinter, Nissan NV and the upcoming Ford Transit are all RWD. Chrysler's laying an egg here.

          Daily's coming too. Lot's more Mopar fans every day. A Pentastar probably could beat the lame oboslete JapanInc compact trucks in a drag race and get better gas mileage. I bet a smart guy could pick up more ladies than with aTRDyota Tacoma with one of these as well. I think it's very cool in a form follows function sort of way, Something JapanInc vehicles lack .

      It looks like Ford, Nissan, and RAM (Dodge) are in a race to the bottom, to see who can design the ugliest front end. RAM just nosed (sorry!) ahead of Ford.
