We've seen some pretty fantastic apocalypse vehicles in our day. We've even owned one or two, but this particular Jeep Comanche tugs at our heart strings in all the right ways. Let's start with the basics: there's a stout 4.0-liter engine underhood hooked to a five-speed manual transmission, and while we wish this truck was four-wheel drive, the two-inch lift and oversize tires should help you overcome obstacles with enough momentum.

Details like handy shovels, Jerry cans and a brush guard inspired by the hardware on a CUCV help lend the truck a no-nonsense appeal, and the functional CB whip antenna means you can ask for backup when the undead hordes come your way. If you like what you see as much as we do, you can head over to eBay Motors to place a bid. The auction has inched up to $4,000 with just two days left on the clock.

No 4wd and window shields makes this a FAIL.

No such thing as zombies makes this completely unnecessary. Therefore double fail.

Because "unnecessary" things are never put on cars. People have different tastes and I fail to see how that is worth commenting on. I suppose the ghostbuster mobiles, general lees and scooby doo vans are failures too? Don't like it? Don't buy it.

I had 2 Comanches, both were 4 wheel drive. One was a 5 speed. I would buy another in a Heartbeat if I could find one not all Rusted away! Living in Michigan I try to keep a Jeep, but I only will buy. The older Jeeps with Inline six engines. They are freaking Bullet Proof with Minimal Maintenance! The biggest problem I have with my Old Jeeps is the Rust Away pretty badly. I currently drive a 1998 Grand Cherokee TSI 4.0. 2 Comanches 4 Cherokes 2 Grand Cherokes

I owned an 86 and an 88 comanche from new. Loved the trucks but, for this one, 4K for a 2 wd short bed? Nope. crazy as a zombie

Buying a Zombie Defense Vehicle without 4WD/AWD is like buying a sports car without RWD...

While I never understood the cultural love affair with zombies in the first place, I am now officially sick of it. I can understand digging zombie flicks, or whatever, but this has grown tiresome. Everything has a "zombie apocalypse" variant now, from automobiles to ****** to canned hams. It's slightly unnerving to think that a whole lotta people are this obsessed with the idea of corpses eating people.

I completely agree. The zombie thing is completely overdone and now all sorts of companies are jumping on the zombie bandwagon because they're hacks with no imagination. Aside from The Walking Dead, the rest can just go away.

I think the truck is pretty cool. They did something unique for their build and it turned out different. Kudos to them for that. Now, of this were a factory package on a line of new cars, like that stupid call of duty wrangler, it would be tacky and retarded.

Apparently, the culturally acceptable word for "rubber dong" is a banned word. Who knew?

I could probably look past the hokey zombie related graphics because underneath them is a Comanche which is an inherently badass vehicle, but there is just no looking past someone voluntarily painting a facebook advertisement on their vehicle.

Saw a Jeep SUV around PG county in MD the other day with a zombie apocalypse motif....CUCV old Army Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle acronym. Surprised CUCV still around.

I've got the same exact model, an '88 Pioneer with the same engine. Unless it's had an transmission swap in its life, the 5 speed in it is the Peugeot model. Comanches & Cherokees didn't get the far superior Aisin 5-speeds until 1989. The Peugeot BA-10 is a weakling, and mines been parked because of it (currently an AX-15 is going in).

Only complaint I have of this particular year, otherwise an excellent truck. :)
