Jeep may not have anything big to show us here in Los Angeles, but that doesn't mean the automaker has arrived empty-handed. New for 2012, Jeep has released special Arctic Editions of both the Wrangler and Liberty SUVs, and the icy duo make their debut here at the LA Auto Show.

On both models, the Arctic package adds semi-gloss wheels – the Wrangler receiving 17-inch rollers while the Liberty makes due with 16s – as well as special paint, Arctic badging and a decidedly tacky Yeti footprint decal. Inside, there are some minor aesthetic tweaks, including white accent fabrics, orange piping on the seats and, of course, more badging. Check out both of the special Jeeps in our attached high-res image gallery.

So you get a different color (thoughtful), bigger black wheels (meh), some stitching & badging (meh) and a horrible yeti cartoon icons (gasp) to stare at? Nothing that really matters ... so, no thanks. Actually, they should discount the car by a few grand because of that yeti icon. At least put in some meaningful practical upgrades, whether from your own upgrade list or 3rd party; and if you are going with an additional logo, maybe stick to something classic like a compass, mountain, ... but keep it subtle & classy.

Buy an Icon CJ3 and have it for life. This Jeep won't last through the warranty.

Thought it is odd they bring this when it's already on the market. My dealer here has had an arctic edition for a couple weeks.

Anybody else notice the semi-hidden "666" in the Yeti's left knuckles? http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2012-jeep-liberty-arctic-edition-la-2011/med/#photo-4620063 #conspiracy

Does anyone aside from fleet operators buy the Liberty anymore? Something tells me that after it gets a FMC, Marchione will also say that it "wasn't fit for human consumption".

A lot of people do, in fact Libertys sales have risen steadily the last two years and are on track for even higher sales this year. I see ya got a big perception problem.....the Liberty is a very nice vehicle and does very well off road too!
