The image above is a perfect example of potential energy. What we have is famed tuner John Hennessey's own personal daily driver, a modified Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon called "Hammer Wagon," about to run down the quarter mile. Its twin-turbo V8 is producing upwards of 1,000 horsepower, but with the Christmas tree still glowing red, it's got nowhere to send that energy.

Watch the video to see the video's subsequent frames in which the Hammer Wagon hooks up its ridiculously meaty rear tires and tears down the tarmac to the tune of 10.69 seconds at 134 miles per hour.

Hennessey is known for pushing his daily driver to its limits. Last month he maxed out its speedometer at 189.7 mph while participating in the annual Texas Mile.

UPDATE: Hennessey wrote us to offer a point of clarification. His Hammer Wagon is not, as we reported, twin turbocharged, but instead features the company's V700 upgrade package plus a 75-hp dry nitrous shot. Together they're good for about 782 horsepower at the engine.

That's pretty nasty for a full trim street car on nothing more than DR's. Wish I had a 130+ trapping daily driver.

But have you ever seen a full weight Cadillac do under 11 seconds? That's the point of this. Please don't compare this to a purpose built Integra.

And try having that Integra do it over and over again then drive 1000 miles to and from the track. My buddy had a twin turbo type-r and he go in the 9's but the motor only lasted 7000 miles.

You know what is slow? A 7 minute 24 second run compared to a 7 minute 19 second run. *rimshot

between this and all the fuzz over the rebadged Lotus I'm also questioning AB's Hennesey articles.

Right... and when you’re not complaining about Hennessey Stuff its Jay Leno, or Porsche, or the GTR or the Juke Build. According to you AB must never get any sleep with all the Bed's they are in... No it has nothing to do with the fact that AB tries to cover all automotive articles and that these few companies put out more than other companies do? Nope that can’t be it.

Another day and another Henessey ad on AB... I'm ready for the next installment of this story -- Hennessey dragging his CTS-V wagon against a Jetta Sportwagen TDI to prove it's worthiness... :)

OK -- so I was so f'ing bored that I went ahead and watched this silly video... I think most of here on AB can agree (other than Elmo) that Hennessey is a crook and has issues with the truth. Does anyone else find it suspect that Hennessey makes his drag time claims on HIS track with HIS timing??? I almost fell out of my chair laughing so hard when I saw the Hennessey logo on the timing clock! Whatever John...

Uh this was the Lonestar Motorsports Park. This isn't his track. Just because his company's name was on it, doesn't mean it's his track. It's called sponsorship.

Wow! whats with all the Hennessy hate? Ok, the guy made a few mistakes.. and he got punished for it. Give him a break. Haven't you guys screwed up anything even once? Lets face it. He makes great cars.

Holy Sh!t, I can honestly say that LOOKS like 1,000hp being unleashed. It's not often you see that much car disappear in the distance that quickly, wow.
