Buick Regal wagon spy shots – Click above for high-res image gallery

One year ago, a Buick Regal wagon was deemed "unlikely." However, General Motors is reportedly looking to expand the Regal lineup, not just with a rumored coupe, but with the estate seen here. Sources within GM say that the Regal wagon could debut as early as the end of this year, making it a 2012 model year vehicle.

In addition to these live photos (note the "turbo" script on its rump), our spies are offering up a rendering of what the production version of the Regal Wagon could look like, complete with the larger 19-inch wheels from the Regal Turbo sedan. If produced, the Regal wagon would aim squarely at the recently introduced Acura TSX Sport Wagon.

If the Regal wagon is indeed set to debut this year, the Los Angeles Auto Show is probably a safe bet. We'll keep our ears to the ground for more details in the coming months.

Very nice, this looks great! Cadillac and Buick are reintroducing estate (touring) wagons, while BMW drops their versions in the USA in favor of their grotesque X6 and GT cars.

Man that's a good looking wagon. Good job, GM. Now just put a manual in it and keep that turbo badge on the back. I wish wagons were as popular here in the States as they are in Europe......you get the sportiness of a luxury car with most of the practicality of a crossover.

Maybe a good option to replace my Saab 9-5 SportCombi?

I'm seeing the Turbo X badge, which to me means a Saab 9-3 Turbo X wagon but a Buick version. AWD is the way for Buick to differentiate itself from Acura's FWD & 4cyl only TSX Sportwagon and put itself up there with the wagon kings the BMW 328iT xDrive, Cadillac CTS4 Wagon, and especially the Audi A4 Avant!

Yeah, but knowing GM, while you can't get the GS with AWD, you won't be able to get the wagon with a manual.

Nice! This is a great looking car (photos don't do it justice), so a wagon version would be pretty darn cool addition to the lineup. Also if the wagon version of this car is exclusive to Buick that would be a great way to help distinguish the Regal from its cousin the Malibu.

I like it. Have a manual as a option, keep the same power specs as the sedan, keep the price low and Acura will have a run for its money.

Glad they took Tiger's endorsment money and put it towards styling! I like what I'm seeing from Buick these days!
