Top Gear returns for Series 16 – Click above to watch video after the jump

The first season of Top Gear USA is in the books and as it closes its rookie outing with mixed reviews, the original BBC version is ready to kick off. The new season will be the 16th series for Top Gear and is set to air Sunday, January 23 on BBC 2 and BBC HD. Those of us in the States will have to wait a bit longer, depending on your preferred means of obtaining the show.

Top Gear has put out a trailer of what's in store for the upcoming season, including segments on how to kill a classic Volkswagen Beetle, a battle between a Ferrari F40 and a Porsche 959, the best way to land a helicopter on top of a car and... well... whatever's going on in the picture above.

Hop the jump to check out the trailer and prep your favorite torrent app for Sunday.

Very good news. Best news on the web. Also to some of the guys and ladies who say Adam Corrolla should be on show are nuts. Just because you own a few cars and have a car model as your name doesn't mean you know cars.

I also think TGUS is getting better and better. The Alaska episode was really fun to watch. My Dad is even enjoying TGUS. He's an old american iron guy (64 Impala SS w/383) but loved the second to last episode with the Porsche Panamera. Like most people he thinks it is an ugly beast (it is actually growing on me), but can't deny the sheer awesomeness of the performance it provides.

I thought the Alaska special from Top Gear USA was pretty great. The whole series wasn't bad, but that episode is as good as the BBC version. It gives me real hope for next season!!!

Finally I love this show. Even tho they are British and I'm American their humor and insight is equalled by none and for that I have been a constant attendant of the show on BBC.

So they where told to show up in something a Russian would have and May picked a Lada?
        It's not a Lada, it's a Zastava.

I'll have to take your word for it, all the eastern European cars from the 70's to 90's look the same to me.
Call me a geek, but yep it is a Zastava 513, sold in the UK as a Yugo in the 80's and as a kid I wanted one so much (don't ask!), still not quite got over it... And BTW, I am aware it is a pile of sh1t, will find it hard to watch if TG destroy it, but kinda see that is highly likely!

Good, James's hair is getting longer again. I didn't like the short cut on the set of the Christmas special. Can't wait for the new season.

Both Hammond and May have short hair in the Boxing Day special and both have long hair in the Boxing Day clips and these pictures ... so I'm guessing these were all filmed prior to Boxing Day!
