Mil-Spec is continuing to roll out modified Hummer H1s. Its latest wasn't built for a specific buyer, so as of the writing of this article, it's available to purchase by anyone. It showcases some Baja-inspired parts, as well as another color available for the beast of an SUV.
The new truck is simply named 004, as it's the fourth production-spec model from the company, and it started life as a convertible four-door truck model. Among its Baja-inspired accessories are the rear sport bar and spare tire mount. It has massive 40-inch tires, suitable for use in sandy locations, and of course the beige color is very reminiscent of the desert. It also has a large brush guard, fender flares and a light bar. The combination of parts is actually quite close to the company's first production-spec vehicle, the 001.
Interestingly, this truck does not feature the Baja Suspension Package, which increases suspension travel to 13 inches and adds remote reservoir shocks for high-speed off-roading. But it does have the same 500-horsepower 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 we enjoyed in the 003 we drove. It also includes the same upgraded interior with more insulation and nicer materials. Mil-Spec is asking $249,000 for the 004, which is $10,000 more than the 003. The 003 is actually still available at the time of writing, so if you like the looks of that one, it's a solid way to save a chunk of change, as long as you like the color and smaller tires.
