nuTonomy CEO Dr. Karl Iagnemma to speak at UPSHIFT 2016

nuTonomy CEO Karl Iagnemma will be joining other engaging speakers at Autoblog's UPSHIFT 2016 conference on transportation technology on October 6 in Detroit. Iagnemma co-founded the MIT spin-off company focused on developing state-of-the-art software for autonomous urban driving.

nuTonomy is part of the mad dash to create the first truly autonomous vehicle, specifically an autonomous taxi service. Its vehicles navigate urban settings and can be summoned by the push of a smartphone app. The company recently partnered with Singapore's Land Transport Authority to bring self-driving taxis to one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world, according to the World Economic Forum. nuTonomy is the only company working with SLTA and is also testing cars in Michigan and in the United Kingdom.

Iagnemma co-founded nuTonomy with fellow MIT researcher Dr. Emilio Frazzoli. He established nuTonomy's Cambridge, MA, and Singapore offices and was instrumental in fundraising and investment efforts in nuTonomy's infancy. He started his professional life as Principal Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he directed the Robotic Mobility Group and performed collaborative research with organizations including Samsung Electronics, Ford, Nissan, DARPA, NASA, the US Army, and many others. His technical work has found application in emerging automotive technologies, robotic surgical tools, and even on the Mars exploration rover, Curiosity.

Iagnemma will join other luminaries from technology and transportation fields in Detroit on October 6th. Extra early bird tickets are still available. We hope to see you there.
