Ford is issuing recalls for a total of 591,177 vehicles worldwide, in four separate campaigns. The announcement comes just days after the discovery of door-latch problems in 390,000 of the automaker's cars.

The largest of these new recalls covers 518,313 examples of the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ from the 2013-2015 model years, plus the 2015 Edge. Of these, 487,301 of are in the US and 31,012 are in Canada. For vehicles in cold-weather areas, the bolts that hold the steering gear motor can corrode and fracture. If this happens, it could cause the power steering to fail, but manual control would be retained. There are no reported accidents or injuries from this problem. To fix things, dealers will replace the bolts and seal them.

The next campaign covers 50,157 examples of the 2014 Focus, Edge, Escape, and Transit Connect, plus the Fiesta from 2014 and 2015. Of these, 45,505 are in the US, 4,618 in Canada, and 34 in Mexico. All of them exhibit a problem with the fuel pump where the nickel plating can cause the part to seize and the engine to stall, if this occurs. (All of which sounds like recent problems with Nissan and BMW models.) According to Ford, there is one allegation of an accident from this problem. Dealers will replace the fuel delivery module to fix the problem.

Ford is also recalling 22,616 units of the 2015 Lincoln MKZ because when the headlights are on, the parking lamps are brighter than they are allowed to be. The light could affect the vision of other drivers. This campaign includes 21,435 of them in the US, 1,066 in Canada and 115 in Mexico. There are no accidents or injuries from the issue, but Ford is updating the software to dim the lights on these sedans.

Finally, Ford has a safety campaign for 91 examples of the 2015 F-150 because an underbody heat shield might not be properly installed or not present at all, which can be a fire risk. There are no reports of any actual accidents or fires, though. The affected pickups will have the parts replaced or added, as necessary after a dealer inspection.

To see the specific build dates for the models affected by each of these campaigns, you can read about them in the press release below.

Ford is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to this condition.

Affected vehicles were built Jan. 30, 2015 to Jan. 31, 2015 at Dearborn Truck Plant. There are 73 vehicles in the United States and 18 in Canada.

Ford issues safety recall for certain 2014 Ford Focus, Edge, Escape and Transit Connect vehicles and 2014-15 Ford Fiesta vehicles in North America for fuel pump issue

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 50,000 2014 Ford Focus, Edge, Escape and Transit Connect vehicles and 2014-15 Ford Fiesta vehicles in North America (actual 50,157) for an issue with the nickel plating on the fuel pump, which may cause it to seize. If the fuel pump seizes, a vehicle may not start or may stall while driving. An engine stall without warning while driving increases the risk of a crash.

Ford is aware of one allegation of an accident that may be related to this condition.

Affected vehicles include certain Ford Focus vehicles built October 26, 2013 – May 22, 2014 at Michigan Assembly Plant; certain Ford Edge vehicles built April 30, 2014 to May 21, 2014 at Oakville Assembly Plant; certain Ford Escape vehicles built Feb. 14, 2014 to March 7, 2014 at Louisville Assembly Plant; certain Ford Transit Connect vehicles built Nov. 11, 2013 to Aug. 29, 2014 at Valencia Assembly Plant; and certain Ford Fiesta vehicles built April 10, 2014 to June 17, 2014 at Cuautitlán Assembly Plant.

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 520,000 2013-15 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles and certain 2015 Ford Edge vehicles in corrosion states and provinces in North America (actual 518,313) for steering gear motor attachment bolts that may fracture due to corrosion cracking. If the steering gear motor bolts fracture, the steering system may default to manual steering mode, making the vehicle more difficult to steer, especially at lower speeds. This would not result in a loss of steering, but could result in an increased risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Affected vehicles include certain Ford Fusion vehicles built Feb. 3, 2015 to March 19, 2015 at Hermosillo Assembly Plant; certain Ford Fusion vehicles built Feb. 3, 2015 to March 13, 2015 at Flat Rock Assembly Plant; certain Lincoln MKZ vehicles built Feb. 3, 2015 to March 20, 2015 at Hermosillo Assembly Plant; and certain Ford Edge vehicles built Feb. 26, 2015 to Feb. 28, 2015 at Oakville Assembly Plant.

There are 487,301 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories and 31,012 in Canada.

Vehicles included in this recall were either originally sold in, or are currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Also included are the Canadian corrosion provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
