Koenigsegg announces Agera RS for Geneva

Koenigsegg replaced the CCX line with the revised Agera back in 2010, and in the years since, has rolled out progressively more powerful versions one after the other. And it promises to present yet one more next month.

The Swedish exotic automaker revealed on its Facebook page that it will present a new version called the Agera RS at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Unfortunately it didn't say anything more than that, but it doesn't take much to imagine an even faster, more powerful and more extreme version of the record-breaking hypercar we already know.

The Agera line packs a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, producing 947 horsepower in "base" trim, over 1,000 hp in the flex-fuel Agera S, 1,100 (later upgraded to 1,200) in the Agera R and a massive 1,341 in the One:1 that Koenigsegg dubbed as the world's first "megacar" due to the metric megawatt of power it produces.

We'll just have to wait and see whether the Agera RS will eclipse even that figure or slot somewhere in between, or for that matter what other upgrades Christian and company have in store.
