Time for some Rocky Mountain car sharing. Car2go on June 8 will add Denver to its list of cities where folks can share the classic white and blue Smart Fortwo vehicles. Denver will be the tenth North American city – and 20th worldwide – to have the service, which is owned by Mercedes-Benz and Smart parent Daimler AG.

In Denver, the car-sharing service will cover 42 square miles and use a fleet of 300 vehicles. As it does regularly in new cities, Car2go is temporarily waiving the $35 membership fee. In December, Car2go started operations in Seattle, where it deployed 330 Smart Fortwo vehicles.

And last month, the company reached an agreement with airport-parking vendor The Parking Spot for spaces near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to be reserved for Car2Go drivers. Austin was Car2Go's US launch city in 2010 and is home to more than 32,000 subscribers. Read Car2go's press release about its Denver launch below.
