Over the last few years Russian dash cams have captured close calls, fraudsters, and even random acts of kindness. This recording posted by LiveLeak shows something we haven't seen yet on a dash cam – a teachable moment.
In the recording, a driver tells his daughter what to do in case of a car accident. The English subtitles come courtesy of LiveLeak user gubastek.
"Overall, the most important thing to do is to remain calm" the dad said. He gave her very good advice during their serious talk, emphasizing the importance of being aware of her surroundings and getting out of harm's way. He told her that after an accident other people would stop to help, so she shouldn't risk her life for him, but rather get away from the car safely.
His daughter immediately gets to see his lessons in driver responsibility put into action after a motocycle races from behind them and rear-ends a car on the freeway while driving extremely fast. The driver in the dash cam stopped and blocked traffic around the injured rider with other drivers. The daughter seems unfazed by the event.
"I've seen a real crash!" she said, "It's the first one I've ever seen!"
With car crashes it's better to learn from observation rather than experience.
