Ford Fusion hybrid pace car, under the hood [live webcast at noon]

At noon EDT today (i.e., about 40 minutes after this post goes up), Ford engineer Gil Portalatin, the chief engineer of the Fusion Hybrid pace car, will present a live webcast about the technology and history of the vehicle. The 'cast is part of Ford's weekly DigiKnows series. As you may recall, the Fusion was the first hybrid vehicle to pace a NASCAR Sprint Cup event last November. If you're interested in Ford's current hybrid technology, the webcast should provide you with some answers, because the pace car is the same - under that very noticeable wrap - as any other 2010 Fusion Hybrid. WWJ's Michael Collins will conduct the interview with Portalatin, and you can ask questions through the UStream webcast. You can find it embedded after the jump. If you read this post after the event, or just don't have time to watch live, the show and previous DigiKnows events will remain available here.
