Ener1 shuffles management in preparation of battery commercialization

Ener1, the battery company that just might change everything, shuffled management in preparation of a greater commercial push of its lithium ion battery and fuel cell technology. The changes in management, listed in full in the press release below the fold, comes just a few weeks after Ener1 signed the largest battery deal in automotive history. Ener1's batteries are not even out of the lab yet; They just signed an 18-month research deal two months ago.
Charles Gassenheimer, Chairman of Ener1, explains: "We have products in both our battery and fuel-cell lines that are nearing commercialization, and now is the time to increase our sales and marketing efforts, develop worldwide distribution channels, and create efficient manufacturing processes." Ener1 is going to show off a car with their battery technology this December in what will be their second press conference. Ener1 will also have a number of investor presentations November according to recent files with the SEC.

Ener1 must be confident about what is coming out of the lab. What else would justify so much early promotion?
