Hydraulic delivery truck showcased in Cleveland

It's starting to require more and more words to describe exactly the type of power source is moving that truck you see delivering boxes. And now here comes one we'll likely be seeing a lot more of in the future: hydraulic. We've mentioned the hydraulic UPS trucks before, but now the Eaton Corporation and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency showcased the first hydraulic hybrid diesel urban delivery vehicle in Cleveland recently. Attendees could view the vehicle and some took test drives. The truck is powered by a high-efficiency diesel engine combined with a unique hydraulic propulsion system that replaces the conventional drive train and transmission. The hydraulics store and recover energy.
