Rolls-Royce News

Rolls-Royce is a British brand of high-end luxury automobiles. Founded in 1906 by Henry Royce and Charles Rolls, the company also made engines for planes until 1973 when the divisions were split into separate companies. Rolls-Royce purchased rival Bentley in 1931, and the two operated together until the Volkswagen Group bought both in 1998. The Rolls-Royce name, however, was not part of the sale. BMW licensed the Rolls-Royce name from its original owner and currently operates the brand.

Hung is purchasing 30 custom examples of ...

    1408300200

Read This: Car companies used to cook up sales with recipe books
    1407501900

The evolution of automotive marketing has undergone a number of strange phases. Few, though, match the strangeness of the 1930s to 1950s, when automotive marketers turned to cookbooks as a means of promoting their vehicles. Yes, cookbooks. We can't make this stuff up, folks. This bizarre trend led to General Motors distributing cookbooks under the guise ...

    Official: Rolls-Royce developing new convertible
    1407331740

Rolls-Royce is not a company that makes a lot of different vehicles, but of the ones it does, it tends to offer several versions. Although details in the press ...

Google Street View is looking for gas leaks. Natural gas leaks are not only extremely dangerous, they're a terrible waste of resources and, as a greenhouse gas, a threat to the environment. Unfortunately, with the decaying infrastructure in many of America's older cities, they're pretty common, too. That's why Google is teaming up with the Environmental ...

Video: Neglected Rolls-Royce Phantom may be the saddest of all time
    1401494580

Rolls-Royce prides itself on exemplifying the pinnacle of automotive elegance. The brand is synonymous with quality and luxury. However, in the end even a Rolls is still just a car, and if you don't keep it up, it's bound to fail. That deterioration can be seriously fun to watch, though. This 2005 Rolls-Royce Phantom might now be one of the worst cars on ...

Rolls-Royce is not the first marque you'd think of when it comes to environmentally friendly transportation. Downsizing is a relative term – especially when it comes to a Rolls-Royce. But that's just what the British luxury automaker did with the release of the Ghost in 2010. Sure, it's over seventeen and a half feet long (over eighteen in Extended Wheelbase form), but that's still shorter than the 19 feet the standard Phantom stretches, and that much ...
