First Drive: 2011 Dodge Charger
The Duke Boys Would Approve Bo and Luke have matured a bit since The Dukes of Hazzard went off the air in 1985. The pair drove, crashed and flew plenty of Rebel-flagged Chargers in their day. Having matured past these antics, both men would likely appreciate the 2011 Dodge Charger. Certainly, the sedan's styling more closely matches the second-generation Mopar they're known for hotfooting, and the significantly improved interior would also likely satisfy their more refined backsides. We knew what to expect when we saw the new Charger earlier this month. We were part of a small group ... Read More

0Report: Hagerty predicts this year's future classics 1327967940
The world would be considerably less entertaining if we could all predict the future. Even so, the classic car gurus at Hagerty Insurance have cast a few chicken bones in an attempt to figure out which vehicles produced today might eventually turn collectible. The company restricted entrants to hardware with a price tag of less than $100,000, so the list ...

Artist uses rust as brush to paint cars 1327670820
There's a thin line between patina and outright decay, and artist Bo Lundvang seems to understand that threshold all too well. He's created unique pieces of art using massive 40-inch by 20-inch sheetmetal panels wrapped in white vinyl. The artist cuts out the profile of his desired image, removes the negative and allows the metal to endure the elements. ...

Auctions: Barrett-Jackson 2012: Dukes of Hazzard 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee falls flat [UPDATE: w/video] 1327201200
What's "the most famous television car in the world"? We suppose that depends on who you ask, but to many, nothing but the General Lee could possibly hold the title. Of course, there wasn't just one General Lee. In fact, scores of orange Dodge Chargers were filmed for "The Dukes of Hazzard," and most of them never survived their first televised ...

Houston police catch man in "Dukes of Hazzard" style Charger after high-speed chase 1326547680
A Houston, Texas, man is likely out of his freedom and his General Lee-style Dodge Charger following a police chase. According to news reports from Houston, police clocked the man going 120 mph on a city freeway. To catch him, police had to run his plate through their database, which led them to his apartment. When the cops showed up, the guy was taking ...

Detroit: Dodge Charger Redline pops its top with Mopar juice 1326127020
We have to hand it to Dodge for injecting an extra dose of octane-induced excitement into otherwise staid segments. Take the Charger, for example, that manages to give the full-size family sedan a muscle-car attitude. The new Dart promises to apply a similar formula to a smaller class, but while Dodge was busy lifting the veil on that Focus-sized sedan, ...

Official: 2012 Dodge Charger Blacktop goes stealth at CES 1325885340
Dodge has given the 2012 Charger the black treatment with a new style package debuting at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show. The 2012 Dodge Charger Blacktop is as monochrome as a vehicle can legally be. With tinted windows, massive blacked-out five-spoke wheels and a smoked tail light array, the Blacktop package gives the already purposeful Charger an ...

Official: Mopar bringing Chrysler 200 Super S, Dodge Charger Redline to Detroit Auto Show 1325480460
The 2013 Dodge Dart is a big deal for Chrysler, so it makes sense that the majority of the company's attention at the Detroit Auto Show will be focused around the new C-segment sedan. But since the automaker doesn't want to blow its whole show presence on just one vehicle, its Mopar tuning arm has stepped in to create two new vehicles for show-goers to ...

Official: Duke Boys' first General Lee goes to Barrett-Jackson [w/video] 1325199540
The very first 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee from "The Dukes of Hazzard" is headed under the gavel at Barret-Jackson. The vehicle was created specifically for the show's intro and made just one jump before being retired. Why the short life span? That first leap was an impressive feat, vaulting the Charger 16 feet in the air over a distance of 82 feet as ...

Chrysler is taking a page from the insect world with its latest set of high-performance machinery. Just as the bright yellow and black motif of a bumble bee is meant to warn potential predators that they might get stung if they come too close, the new 2012 Charger SRT8 Super Bee and Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket feature Stinger Yellow and Pitch Black ...

The Charger emerged with the fastest lap time ever recorded in the Michigan State Police test's history, at 1:33.7. That, boys and girls, is something else. ...
