2009 RDX Overview

The RDX is Acura's turbocharged crossover, combining car-like performance and handling characteristics with the versatility of a compact sport utility vehicle.The RDX boasts a 240 hp 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a five-speed automatic transmission with SportShift manual mode and paddle shifters, and Acura's exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system. Premium standard equipment includes a power moonroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats, satellite radio and automatic climate control. Key safety technologies for the RDX include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, SH-AWD, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, front side-impact airbags, overhead curtain airbags and active front head restraints.The Acura RDX is a carryover for 2009. A 4-way power front passenger seat is now standard, along with four new exterior paint colors.The rear-wheel drive 740i is by a direct-injection, 320-hp 3.0-liter, turbo inline six-cylinder engine bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual steering wheel mounted shift paddles. The 740i has many standard luxury features such as four-zone automatic climate control, harman/kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof, high-gloss wood trim, heated power seats, voice-activated navigation system on a 10.2-inch color touchscreen, gesture control, wireless cellphone charging, satellite and HD radio as well as BMW Assist emergency and information communications. Safety features include standard run-flat tires on 18-inch alloy wheels, Park Distance Control, adaptive LED brakelights, adaptive LED headlights with high-beam assistant LED foglights as well as extensive use of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) in the structure of the vehicle for greater passenger safety and decreased weight. High-tech options include a head-up display, surround-view cameras, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, dual LCD screens for rear seat entertainment, a rear tablet controller and a Sky Lounge LED roof.
