Is this the Tesla Model 3?

A blurry photo is making the rounds on the internet, purporting to show the much-anticipated Tesla Model 3. This is Tesla's entry point, and it will slot below the Model S sedan and Model X crossover in the company's lineup.

It's been billed as a sedan, but this photo appears to indicate the Model 3 could (also?) take the form of a hatchback. We've also heard rumors the Model 3 could be offered as a crossover. Despite the anticipation, the car has remained a closely-guarded secret.

Electrek has reported that the car could reach 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds. All-wheel-drive is expected to be an option, and the site suggests the car can be loaded up to nearly $60,000. The base price has been speculated to be around $35,000. In this shot, these design cues appear to mix elements from the Model S and Model X. There appears to be no fear of the unknown, however, as Tesla faithful are already camping outside dealerships in Australia to be the first in line to place their order.

Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas wrote in a note to investors that the Model 3 will reinforce Tesla's position in the broader market, yet remain true to the company's core values. "Despite its more affordable entry level price, we expect the Model 3 to live up to the Tesla brand image as a 'no compromise' high performance car, with a high degree of (human) driving pleasure."

We can't wait for tonight. The action starts around 11:30 p.m. EST.
