Watch this awesome history of Ford rally cars

Oh, and something about the 2016 Focus RS and a guy named Ken Block

It began in 1970 with the Escort AVO RS1600 RS Twin Cam. Ever since, Ford's been giving the Ralleye Sport badge to all of its European rally cars, along with plenty of roadgoing versions along the way. With the 2016 Focus RS, the hot-hatch moniker finally arrives stateside.

In tribute, Ford put together a montage of rally cars from the past, starting with the RS1600 all the way up to the present. Sure, we wish there were more road cars in this video than just the newest car, and even Ken Block looks better flying over a dirt track than doing donuts. But we're suckers for vintage racecar footage and seeing old film of Colin McRae gives us goosebumps, so we're giving it the Autoblog stamp of approval. Enjoy!
