The Lamborghini Urus super-SUV is, arguably, the most significant debut of the 2012 Beijing Motor Show. Maybe not in terms of sales volume, but at it's a completely new direction for the modern Lamborghini brand (nevermind the LM002 "Rambo Lambo" from the '80s), and moreover, it shows the first glimpse into the new premium SUV architecture that will gradually make its way through the entire Volkswagen Group portfolio.

We've already divulged the nitty gritty details about the Urus, including the meaning behind its questionable name (it's a Spanish bull – go figure), but now it's time to take a look at the bruiser live on the stage in Beijing. Before its debut, we were skeptical about how a high-riding Lamborghini SUV would look, but if we're honest, we like what we see. It's absolutely in-tune with the rest of Lambo's design language, and it's not nearly as enormous as you might think. We just wonder how much space there is in the back seat and how much utility is offered by the cargo bay.

This thing is going to get a lot of hate, but I kinda like it. It's an SUV, so there aren't many shapes it can come in. I love the front, and the interior is Lamborghini being Lamborghini....absolutely bonkers. No comment on that name.

im a not a fan of SUVs but i am a lambo fan and this thing will sell and that´s a good thing, cause it finances their true sportscars, like the Cayenne finances the 911, 918, 960 etc. so, build it!

I find at least the Lamborghini's SUV look a lot better than the Bentley's one...

Well it's a LOT better looking than Bentley's try at it, however different the intent may be. That's not saying much as the Bentley SUV is butt ugly. Very cool none the less.

Looks a bit better in photos than renders, but I'm still not a huge fan. It's ostentatious enough to do well in China. Might look better in black.

i like it i always think Dakar like when i saw the nissan juke for the first time too. Has more a Dune look then Utility. It looks way better than Porsche the BMW and the LandRover. Id put it in second still like SRT jeep more with its looks/power for this segment. But i really like it even more in live shots too.

How is this model in any way significant? Every other car maker on the planet has debuted a CUV, it started with entry level luxury; BMW, Audi: It moved into higher level luxury: Porsche, Jaguar, Aston Martin: Now it's hitting the extreme levels: Lamborghini, Bentley. Everyone is jumping on the CUV bandwagon, it's nothing new. It's like saying a "murdered-out" (all-black) Lamborghini is in anyways significant. If you think VW or Audi doesn't all ready have CUV's then I have news for you, if you expect them to ditch their plain and safe slightly curved body panels for the bold and often over-the-top body lines of a super exotic brand, well, maybe I need a new site. I'll forgive you if you add an "edit" button however.

Ridiculous. Obama ridiculous. (That's bad.) No doubt the world is about to end.

I'm really curious what is YOUR vision for the design of this car. Why don't you make us aware and thus Lamborghini? This is concept after all and the purpose of it is to sound peoples opinion. I'm sure that somebody with such deep knowledge of car design can benefit very much in their humble amateurish attempts to create something descent. I meant not cheap, sorry.

He doesn't have to have a version! He's right and just has to express his opinion! The designers get thousands of euros every month so they HAVE TO COME UP WITH GOOD IDEAS! Anyway, it's not original. It looks like it borrowed ideas from other SUVs like a Chinese car manufacturer!
