What do you do to celebrate the 'Vette's 60th? Well, if you're Chevrolet, you crank out one more model year of the C6 Corvette before showing off your much-anticipated seventh generation car. And apparently, you make cute YouTube videos.

This one features the special 60th Anniversary 427 Convertible blowing out its candles in a fashion that's entirely apropos. And while we're making wishes, here's to hoping the next Corvette gets the interior overhaul it's deserved for about 15 years.

The 427 'vert is sweet. But it's time for a new car. And a new small block. GM says the next SBC will have direct injection and "advanced combustion techniques". I can't wait to see what that means.

The article I read said still pushrods. And there's nothing wrong with that in my book.

Speaking of "old", let's talk about that joke you're attempting to tell. It's got to be getting up there by now. In all honesty, how many 20 somethings do you know who can afford a $50K sports car? Unless they are in the military and have no wife and kids, own their own business, or are famous, my guess would be not many. Most of the people I see driving around in newer Porsches aren't exactly "spring chickens" either, so why pick on the Vette?

I'm 24 and I've had my 01 coupe for almost two years. A vette isn't a very practical car for people with children so the way I figure I'll have one now rather than waiting till I have kids and they go off to college.

Speaking of primitive, why do you feel the need to bring up dark forces, evil, and Hell in all of your posts? I'm starting to wonder if your real name is Fred Phelps.

Nice commercial! But...that being said, it is only 59 years. There was no 1983 Vette. Flame away, if you desire.

It's meant to commemorate the Corvette's was introduction to the public, which was almost 60 years ago. Don't think so hard. LOL They never ceased production, and actually built Corvettes that year. They just weren't called 1983s.

They did construct them in that year though, so it still counts.

They could have never made a single one in any year from 1954 on and it still would be 60 years of Corvettes, since the '53s are still around.

Why do ad agencies have such a hard time getting good sounds out of a car? Commercials with engine sounds almost always sound like the cars are just droning around. For a car like the 'Vette, you can afford to 'offend' the *****-eared people outside your target audience. Just look on youtube for a few exhaust clips and use that raw, powerful sound instead.

They are stuffy marketing nerds, not drivers & they are more visual than the total package. Looks aren't everything.
