Oh how we love the Jeep CJ-8. Of all the classic CJ's, the "Scrambler" was one of the coolest. It was certainly one of the shortest-lived, with less than 30,000 produced during the five years between 1981-86. So we probably don't need to explain why we love the "Red Jacket Edition" Jeep Wrangler that recently showed up on Jay Leno's Garage.

A product of VWerks of Adrian, Michigan, the candy apple red Jeep was shown at SEMA last year. The Red Jacket Jeep uses Mopar's JK-8 pickup conversion kit to turn a Wrangler Unlimited into one bad off-roader. VWerks developed the aftermarket kit, which they've installed on the Red Jacket, but that's just the beginning. They've also fitted the Wrangler with a four-inch suspension lift, a one-inch body lift, new rock-crawling bumpers and some monster 40-inch tires.

Couldn't have said it better myself. All he does is blah blab blah blab and then when the guest starts in with actual technical knowledge Jay cuts them off after 6-7 words and goes back to boring everyone. He does this EVERY time with EVERY guest. Sweet Jeep though, gimme one with the 6-speed

Leno makes himself look pretty dumb in that video. That being said, That is one nice looking piece of kit. And I am not anywhere near the target market for such a vehicle.

I agree... Jay is horrible with commentary... "so you use steel? Plastic? Let me point out something that no one will care about. "

If this is a reference to Red Jacket Firearms (http://www.redjacketfirearms.com/) of the Sons of Guns program, I don't see any mention of them and hope they get the proper credit for the name.

Now THIS is what Jeep should be selling to America. Too bad Ram wont let Jeep sell pickups for fear of cannibalizing Ram sales.

Oh how I wish Chrysler would build this. I would take this over a Ram, or any of the other behemoths on the market for that matter, any day of the week.

That is an awesome Jeep! Chrysler should produce those in limited numbers and watch them fly out of show rooms!!! I respect Jay's passion for cars but I have seen too many videos where he appears to be "yeah, yeah-ing" his guest and not paying any attention to what the guest has to say. I think he just got up from a nap.
