If you need a little assistance getting through your annual 80-course meal and various NFL games, may we offer you some GT3 RS à la Rally? Some kind chef has cobbled together 22 minutes of footage of the Porsche that loves to get dirty doing slides and Scandinavian Flicks and making rooster tails.

This choice bit of German dessert awaits you after the jump.

i don't really get why someone would use an rwd car for rallying...but HELL what a sound!

Because there's not enough AWD cars to pick from. Besides, there's rally classes for Rwd and AWD, they don't compete together.

Ding Ding Ding. Americans are afraid of them because they require a brain rather than testosterone to understand. You won't find a small American AWD car. Only FWD. Sure they might race an AWD but they definitely won't sell it to the public. Americans will hate them until one of the Big 3 builds an Evo/STI competitor. Suddenly Americans will be talking about "engineering prowess" and "power per liter". All things they mock now with their 5.0-7.0 V8's. They can't really argue against hard facts so they attack the car by saying it's market is too small, it's unreliable, or too expensive. They will cite examples of pro racers in their car beating on amature racers in the other car. They love talking about superchargers on their car but suddenly the AWD turbo car can only be discussed if it's stock. As soon as we pull out 10 or 11 second quarter mile passes with bolt ons Americans throw out excuses to ignore those numbers. Basically running from the real facts. Otherwise how do you answer the following with an American Product? 0-60 in 3.9 1/4th mile: 11.4 seconds 24mpg city 31mpg highway 3100lbs Full-Time AWD 400 at the wheels at 28psi All with half the parts from a 16 valve 4cylinder compared to a 32 valve V8. Bonus points for still being called a "sports car" when it rains or snows when suddenly American cars are all lame ducks. They'll put their car sideways or spin tires any day but suddenly it's all about "safety" and "not being a moron" when it's raining. Excuses Excuses Excuses. All you have are drag cars or FWD wannabees. We're easily pulling 400-900 horsepower from 2.0 liters with a car 1000lbs lighter than your beloved 4000lb drag queen. If it's consistently showing up at the strip to smack around your Camaro maybe you need a better excuse than reliability or turbo lag eh?

Is it just me or is the driver of the red Porsche just a tad too aggressive?

the red Porsche is Olaf Dobberkau and his wife as codriver... the 2011 season did not went well for him, 2010 season he was DRS champion with his wife (German national rally series)

Actually... watching this is so much more fun, than wrc... it is such a shame! Before, wrc used sport cars as well as some normal cars, but now its only modified small city cars with a tiny turbo engine, which doesn't sound anything near as good as this... it is such a shame that motorsport is going this way - constantly making it less and less exciting.

But an AWD 650hp turbo 4 with unbeatable traction and lightweight tossability is *really* hard to beat. I mean come on those cars are just insane. Audi claimed their old Quattro WRC could hit 0-60 in around 2 seconds on gravel. The anti-lag system is also quite impressive with how they keep those huge turbo's spooling with the newer cars. These cars do look and sound worse than other cars I'll give you that, but they outperform just about everything until you reach exotic supercar levels of performance. Call me biased, I traded in a Mustang Cobra for an Evo. I love AWD turbo 4s.

one of the Rally hero cars of the past was.... the orginal Mini The Mini won the famous Rally Monte Carlo 4time in a row 1964 - 1967 ... Motorsport always goes the way that allows success... short cars have a huge advantage over saloons ... one reason why the WRX STI and EVO┬┤s failed to stop Citroen and Peugeot since 2000

        They're not using city cars. They're using sub-compacts. Mini isn't using a sub-compact, they're using their crossover.

Amazing video, but you shouldnt capitalize the T in turkey in your headline. Sounds like you are implying we are tired of Turkey (the country), and not the bird. Just nitpicking...
