2010 Acura ZDX – Click above for high-res gallery

It's only been on the market since December, but the 2010 Acura ZDX has already gotten its first official recall. According to AutoWeek, Acura believes that less than two percent of the 1,850 ZDXs built so far were assembled with a dashboard material that was incorrectly cut. The problem could cause the passenger-side front airbag to deploy improperly.

If you think you may have one of the affected vehicles, you are urged to take your minty-fresh ZDX to your local Acura dealer so the vehicle can be inspected. If there is indeed an issue, the entire dashboard will be replaced at no expense to the owner.

Owners should be getting notifications through the mail any day now. Alternatively, you can also call (800) 382-2238 for more information.

      Bravo, Honda...

It should be recalled for being too ugly!

I wonder if they screwed up the paperwork, thinking they were recalling the Crosstour for ugliness issues.

In related news, I actually saw one (1) Crosstour on the road - driven by a purchasing customer, no less - last Saturday. It was almost like seeing a running Yugo, they're so rare.

I sincerely hope those Crosstour statys as rare as they are now. Those fuglys really hurt everyone's eyes!

I've seen one (1) ZDX on the roads.

I think the ZDX looks much better than the Crosstour.

Unfortunately, I see no reason why such a lame-ass vehicle should even exist.

It's got less interior room than a real station wagon, yet the high center-of-gravity of an SUV.

WTF? A horse tortured and mutilated by committee is what it is.

And yes, I lament the passing of the Honda that gave us the CRX and the real Civic Si.

Apparently no one noticed the huge enthusiast following here in the US (and all over the world) who relished in the fully independent suspensions and torqueless motors.

R.I.P. the Honda Motor Co. that used to kick ass.

Eh the Crosstour isn't as bad in person as it is in pictures. However, I've seen 3 on the road, but not one ZDX. I feel like the ZDX probably looks worse in person, though. Sigh, what happened to the cool Honda that produced the Prelude Si, Civic and Integra Type-R, S2000 and NSX.

Too bad they never recall ugly . . .
I think the recall should have read that 1850 Acura ZDXs are being recalled after accidentally being produced in the first place.

I gotta say that I actually like Acura sharp edging styling. The ZDX looks a heck of a lot better than the Crosstour (yuck).

Sounds like that fancy leather wrapped dash is a lot more complex to make than expected. I just saw one of these in a store parking lot a few hours ago and I have to say that it's actually a pretty good looking vehicle as long as you're looking at it from an angle where you cannot see that grille.
Or the exterior. If it has keyless entry, just close your eyes as you walk up to it, open the door, quickly get in and then open your eyes.

For those who think the ZDX is ugly, but think the BMW X6 is a dream . . . all I can say is you better stop smokin' that stuff and come up for air.

The ZDX is much better proportioned than the BMW X6 and I'd say has much more character than the 5-Series GT. The X6 beltline is way too high and the GT is borderline boring.

Only complaint with the ZDX is that Acura grille. That thing has gotta go.
Oh posh. The airbags are deploying because the car is punishing its passengers for making such a terrible purchase. Yes, the ZDX is a self-hating car.

Sure it wasn't recalled for a PAPER BAG issue?
That award is already..."in the BAG" so to speak.

An award of 25 internets is headed your way.

forget about the airbag, they should be recalling it for the front grill
