Acura NSX meets Lamborghini – Click above for high-res image gallery

Full Disclosure: We have loved the Acura NSX since long before we were all smelling like teen spirit. The car will always hold a special place in our hearts, so the car you see above is particularly blasphemous in our eyes. Someone, at some point in history, looked at their reliable, capable near-supercar from Honda and thought, "You know what this needs? A little more Lamborghini Diablo."

That person, then, evidently commenced to slather the lightweight Japanese hellion in enough fiberglass to convince your average passer-by that the car actually hails from Italy. As far as body kits go, this one is the real deal. The builder even went so far as to badge the brake calipers with Lamborghini script and plop a faux twelve-cylinder intake on top of the Japanese V6, even though it doesn't appear to be bolted to anything.

Is it bad? Well, outwardly at least, it appears far more convincing than one might reasonably expect. But would we have been less insulted if were a Pontiac Fiero under that orange skin? Undoubtedly – but the builder at least gets points for creativity, as this is evidently a one-of-one proposition. If you dig it, you can find this creation on eBay Motors with a Buy-It-Now price of $49,000 in Branson, Missouri. The seller is willing to entertain offers. Thanks for the tip, Jesse!

Somebody in Branson has too much time and money on their hands.

Hey, I live near Branson! Maybe I could test drive it? haha... Sadly enough that car may have fooled me into thinking it was the real thing, only because I've never really looked at the diablos that much.

      Garbage.

I prefer cars that look pretty tame but pack a mean punch. I've never understood why people try to dress their cars up as something they are not. Don't misunderstand, the NSX was a wonderful car, very balanced and almost calculated in its competence. Give it Lambo performance with an unchanged appearance and I'll applaud you. Give it a Lambo appearance makeover but nothing else and you have a Honda in drag.

Branson, Missouri is a big clue. That's where has-been country stars go to perform in their own theaters and wait for all the midwest country music lovers on vacation to come to them. That way they can live in one place and perform instead of having to go on tour. I'd be willing to wager that some country star (or someone affiliated, ie management, etc.,) back in the early to mid 90's wanted the image of driving a Lambo. I've been in the music business for 28 years and many times I've heard some version of "I have an image to live up to".

NSX was not that great of a car design. What made it shine was the engineering underneath. This guy gave it the exotic looks it never had. Looks that fit his personal taste. Kudos to him.

I wish there was a dashboard photo. The only things I recognize as being 'NSX' are the seats [Even though the stitch pattern is different on the sides where the bottom meets the top] the center console lid and the back of the steering wheel. [And I owned an NSX for 11 years] A great job!! Very well done. Still kinda makes me sick to my stomach though!! lol

That's a mod that makes little sense. The NSX is more collectible than a faux-'bo. I might pay $4950 for the fake car, but not 10x that.

Mind numbing. The thing that always nags at me about crap like this is that buying an NSX and undertaking all of this foolishness HAD to cost as much or more than getting a very respectable real-deal supercar like a 911 or a Viper... so what the heck was the point? Hmm... a real 911, or a fake Diablo... I mean even just a plain ol' NSX is right up there in the pantheon of awesome cars. Turbo or super-charge the Honda and you could probably spank a REAL Diablo around a track.

I guess the problem here is that I'm trying to make sense of an act that borders on full-tilt insanity. My great grandfather used to say, "to expect common sense in others is to express a lack of it yourself." Amen.

That's why there is only one of these.

No one else is so stupid, they're all driving 911's instead of this thing.
