Piece Brosnan with the BMW Z8 in The World is Not Enough

You wouldn't know it if you weren't a serious film buff or marketing exec, but Propaganda GEM is responsible for a big share of the products you see placed in films. The entertainment marketing agency represents such brands as Audi, Lamborghini, Nokia, Panasonic, Bang & Olufsen and Casio, to name just a few. And it has a new client: the BMW Group.

Following such films as I, Robot and Iron Man, Propaganda has helped Audi significantly increase its profile in Hollywood. But the agency will be terminating its 13-year relationship with Audi (and, we'd expect, Lambo along with them) in order to take on BMW (together with Mini, Rolls-Royce and BMW motorcycles), spearheading a new marketing initiative for the Bavarian automaker.

Having temporarily stolen the James Bond spotlight from Aston Martin and Lotus in the mid-Nineties and launched The Hire film short series in 2001, BMW is no stranger to product placement, but the tie-in with Propaganda promises to take things to the next level. Apparently Munich's marketing budget has increased recently, thanks in large part to the termination of the company's Formula One program this year. BMW's sponsorship of the 2012 Olympic Games in London will only be the tip of the proverbial iceberg, as we can expect to see its products and those of its subsidiaries in more movies, television shows, music videos and video games in the near future. Thanks for the tip, Adam!

More like the Z8 is not enough. Hey-oooo

At least Audi has the R8 and they placed it in Ironman. Apart from their motorcycles, what car will they place in the movies? The 5 GT, the fugly 3 series or the X1?
Build a supercar and then we'll talk.

If they really want to reflect their base, they should sponsor douche.

Bring back Clive Owen for another "The Hire" series.

Maybe I'm missing something here... but isn't that what everyone who is pulling out of motorsports doing with said money? Since they realize those massive budgets are taking away from R&D and future models et-al?

Whatever. Bring us something the size of the 1 series but light with a blown four (E30, remember bmw?) or something that competes with Audi, Mercedes and now Lexus at the top. Either would be a welcomed use of said money.

F1 R&D is supposed to trickle down into consumer products. But that seems to work as well as trickle-down Reaganomics.

I see what you did there.

Horay! Now they should work on a halo car for their line-up and use the money where it can make more money. They only need F1 when their brand image going down.

maybe no there will be more movies with old school chasing scenes, not CG.

I don't care, but that Z8 is still one of the most beautiful cars in the history of motorsports. Shame it didn't see much production.

I just parked next to one at a Southport, IN town hall meeting. Looks nice in person. Who the heck drives a Z8 to a rinky dink town hall meeting in Southport I do not know. But, still. $125k+ buys a lot of other nice looking cars.

Motorsports? LOL. Only if you call letting your Z8 sit-in-your-driveway-for-your-neighbors-to-admire a motorsport.

I do agree with you, though. Man, that car was stunning. They should have kept it going, evolving like the Z3 did, or evolving like the Porsche 911 did.

      man... realli, in films..honestly.. -.-

see.. audi has the right idea of the R8, maybe BMW should have a go at it

Spend the F1 money on a mid-engine V8 or V10 coupe and we're talking, but please don't beat it with an ugly stick!!!

If you watch the role out video of he new 5 Series, you can see when the car is in the olympic stadium in Munich that the score board had the 5 Series as an official sponsor of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games that Munich put in a bid for.

      smart.
        Lame.
2nd. F1 is lame. F1 tech is admittedly high, but as far as I'm concerned anything to do with BE is no go. And his second, MM and MM's daddy OM are just fascists looking for a place to rule.
